EFT tapping & Intuitive Coaching
Emotional Freedom Technique combined with coaching, is a powerful way to shift energy and make real change.
Emotional freedom technique (EFT or tapping)
EFT is an evidence based energy psychology involving meridian tapping and talking, combining the somatic with cognition. It is this combination that makes it such a powerful therapy and tool for self-healing.

As the name suggests, the process helps us move and release blocked emotions that have become stuck in our energy system. If we understand that emotions are just energy in motion, then we can see how when they stop flowing, issues can occur...and occur they do!

Our energy needs to flow, but for various reasons this flow gets interrupted in life. This could be a small or more significant childhood trauma, a life event like an illness or accident, the breakdown of a relationship, or anything else you can imagine.

When the flow is interrupted and a block is formed, the reason for the block and consequential symptom is often unconscious to a degree. When we begin to use EFT to gently tap into the block, something amazing happens. The connection between the mind and body allows us to uncover unconscious energy and information, to help move the block out of the system.

This might sound "woo woo" and believe me, I have been sceptical myself in the past. But it becomes less so, when we understand the very real flow of energy that makes everything up. There is growing research supporting the success of EFT in treating issues, such as trauma and PTSD.

Sometimes in tapping therapy old memories come to the service, or we gain clarity around the cause of an issue. It could be something you would never have logically imagined to be such a big influence in your life. That is part of EFT's gift. It helps us to go beyond the logical mind, and enter the wisdom held in the body. Re-learning the skill of tuning in to our body is crucial in living a healthy life, and a key part of what I coach people on.

During tapping we also explore somatic sensations and where emotions are being held. This is extremely powerful in drilling into the block directly, and when combined with talking about the sensations and emotions, can get energy moving quickly.

I have worked with people who have told me that they experienced more movement in one EFT session, compared to years of talking therapy alone. I am not dismissing talking therapy! It has a place and I have benefitted from it in the past. That said, EFT is part of a new wave of therapy that engages the energy system and has a growing body of impressive research.

What to expect
We will talk briefly about what you'd like to focus on, having already spoken on our call. I will take notes and record your words carefully, so that I can mirror your own language back when tapping together. This is an important part of the process.

We will create a set-up statement based on our conversation, that combines the issue (heaviness) and some self-acceptance (lighteness). This combination empowers us to accept ourselves where we are, and find kindness towards yourself.
Some of us are not ready for self-compassion, and there is no rush. In EFT we meet the person where they are, and always adjust the language to work for you. It is a collaborative experience.

We tap on the outer hand whilst saying the set-up statement approx three times, then we start tapping on the other points whilst saying shorter statements.

EFT is like a gentle exposure therapy, as we focus on the issue or emotion, in order to release it. It is the opposite of suppressing, which is what most of us have been doing forever!

We will follow the sensations and thoughts that come up, and be led by the body and your unconscious. The beautiful thing about this process is that the answers are presented to us through somatic awareness, and all you have to do is listen, and go with the flow.

Sometimes we will go into old memories and events and help to neutralise them, unhooking the energetic charge in the mind and finding healing. We are not erasing the past, but reducing it's impact on your present. This is deeper trauma work, and will be taken very slowly.

Tapping alone has been shown to reduce cortisol, the stress hormone, by up to 40%. It is a relaxing and balancing experience, and a great tool for self-care. When we combine this tool with more advanced EFT techniques, the results can be profound.

I am an advanced EFT practitioner, and trained to train and supervise other practitioners too.

Coaching is a collaborative process that empowers you to unlock your own potential for healing and making changes in your life. Traditional coaching focuses on achieving goals and life optimisation.

The form of coaching that I have developed is based on my training in Growth coaching, that focuses on neuroplasticity and the capacity we have for change and growth.

I combine this knowledge with my own intuition, and let this guide the questions that I ask during our sessions. When we reflect and answer questions whilst tapping into the energy movement of EFT, amazing things can happen.

You might find an answer you never expected that unlocks exactly what you needed! An old memory might resurface in connection to the question, showing us where to go to get the healing you need. More often than not, the stagnant mist will clear and a new clarity will come through, allowing you to find a new way forward.

Intuitive coaching techniques will be woven into our EFT sessions, to deepen the depth of energy shifts and growth. Sometimes I will use coaching frameworks to set gentle goals and intentions, and use markers to celebrate progress. All sessions are bespoke and it depends on your unique needs, wants and energy flow.
